If you have an abscess that requires drainage, Veda Health can provide the care you need. An abscess is a painful infection that develops when oil or sweat glands become obstructed, and bacteria becomes trapped under the skin. It can develop just about anywhere on the body and requires incision and drainage in order to promote healing. If left untreated, an abscess could result in more serious complications including scarring, or sepsis, which could be life threatening. This relatively simple, in-office procedure will immediately alleviate the pressure and begin the process of healing, which can take a week or two, depending on the size of the abscess.
If you have a skin tag that you would like removed, Veda Health can provide the care you need. Skin tags are flaps of small flesh-colored tissue that hang off your skin by a thin stalk. A skin lesion biopsy is performed in order to diagnose a skin condition and remove any abnormal tissue, and it is performed in order to help determine the cause of a growth. There are several ways your doctor may remove a sample of tissue, which will depend on your individual circumstances. Before any biopsy, you will receive anesthetic to numb the site, so you remain comfortable throughout the procedure. After a biopsy, the wound will be covered, and the tissue will be sent off to a laboratory for testing. When results are back, your doctor will discuss the results with you.
